Ira Kirschenbaum Introduces Partial Knee Replacement

Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum is the chairman of orthopaedics at the Bronxcare Health System. Kirschenbaum received his undergraduate degree at Brown University in 1979. The doctor majored in Independent Concentration Neuroscience. Dr. Kirschenbaum earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.

The orthopaedic doctor specializes in minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgery. Kirschenbaum is a member of many medical organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the American Board of Orthopaedic Research Society.

One of Ira Kirschenbaum‘s patients is 25-year karate expert, Robert Reed. In addition to karate, Reed participated in fooball, basketball, and softball. Oneday, his knee joint was throbbing. and he was in tremendous pain. Reed popped many Advil tablets as though they were M&M’s. The pain was so bad, Reed went to see Dr. Kirschenbaum who performed a partial knee replacement.

The knee has three separate compartments. Rather than replace the entire knee, only the damaged part of the knee could be replaced instead. When part of the knee is diseased, the bone of that part of the knee can be resurfaced. Partial knee replacement is better than replacing the entire knee because the patient will still have feeling in that knee. If a patient has his entire knee replaced, he would always have to have the entire knee replaced.

Dr. Kirschenbaum doesn’t believe in future surgeries that every knee replacement surgery requires that the entire knee be replaced. The orthopaedic surgeon has developed specialized instruments to perform partial knee and cementless hip replacement surgeries. Kirschenbaum has acquired many patents for his surgical invention. The Stryker Corp consultant is the founding executive director of Netscape Orthopaedics.

Alternatives to Knee Replacement Surgery

Over the course of an average human life, there is going to be a considerable amount of wear and tear on the body. One part of the body that can end up in bad shape are the knees. Years of sports and other physical activity has left the patient Robert Reed with arthritis in the knees. However, thanks to the fact that only one part of the knee was deceased, a knee resurfacing was able to be done instead of a total knee replacement surgery. The knee is made up of three parts and if only one part of the knee needs to be replaced, then there is no reason to replace the entire thing. As Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum, a Harvard graduate and current chairman of Orthopaedics at Bronxcare Health System, explains, once the knee is gone that is it. There is no getting back the original knee or the feeling of having a natural knee ever again. It is for this reason that he recommends, if the opportunity is available, to go with a resurfacing instead of a replacement. This leaves the patient with an option that is both less intrusive as well a more natural knee that closer emulated how the knee felt before the surgery. The thing about a knee replacement surgery is that it does not last forever. After ten or so years, the new artificial knee will need to be replaced again. A knee replacement surgery leaves you with nothing left besides your new knew but with a resurfacing, only one third of the knee is lost. It is important to note, however, that when a patient has extreme arthritis in the knees, a knee resurfacing may not be an option.

Dr. Saad Saad and The Meaningful Career He Led To Achieve His Dreams

It’s part of the human condition for people to make a mountain out of a molehill, and there’s little we can do about that, except finding tricks and life hacks to find palliative solutions to the problem. If this is too much for you and you don’t want to go with a series of trial and error to find the right answer, then you might be better off following the advice of a mentor. One of the mentors you can tap for information right now is Dr. SaadSaad, a pediatric surgeon whose career was advanced and improved because of a prestigious job rooted in innovation, service and independent thinking.

Life Lessons from Dr. SaadSaad

In the interview with BlogWebPedia , Dr. SaadSaad imparted that one big lesson you should learn in life is to define your success and make sure that you are fulfilling a specific meaning in your life. You can read his complete story in the transcript at the website, but an excerpt of that interview would show that the success of Dr. SaadSaad doesn’t just stop in his career, it also affects and spreads out like a glowing form of blessing to his kids, which are also doctors, and a nurse. Being listed as one of the country’s top surgeons today, Dr. SaadSaad has also found meaning in the medical field, and that in turn is where he learned all the most important lessons that one could get in life.

Another interesting tidbit about the history of Dr. SaadSaad’s career is the fact that his decision to become a doctor wasn’t a product of an introspective and brooding self-reflection. It wasn’t even as grandiose as a product of an existential search. It was just a decision after realizing that too much outdoor work is not a good fit for Dr. SaadSaad, and so he found a place where he should mostly be working indoors, and that’s the operating room. The decision paid off, though, since because of his dedication to indoor surgery work, he has now retired successful and fulfilled from doing the thing he loved most.

About Dr. SaadSaad as an Authority on Wisdom

There’s a lot of authority from Dr. SaadSaad to make him an authority of wisdom. First of all, he’s one of the most awarded physicians today, and he’s been in practice for about 47 years. It must also be said that Dr. SaadSaad succeeded to become the first Palestinian-American speaking to have ever been board-certified in the 1980s. This backround gives him a whole lot of exposure to risks, challenges, and hurdles that could build him strong. That’s also a lot of opportunity for growth both in his approach to life, and to an understanding of humanity in general.
